Agricultural Container Collection Sites are Closing
July 8, 2024
The empty chemical container collection sites at Spedden Landfill, Smoky Lake Landfill, Bellis Transfer Station, Waskatenau Transfer Station and Vilna Transfer Station will be permanently closed.
Cleanfarms is transitioning Alberta collection sites for recycling empty pesticides and fertilizer jugs from municipal depots at landfill and transfer station sites to agricultural retailers. The goal is to ensure that recycling your used ag jugs remains just as easy and convenient as it always has been.
Information about new collection locations will be updated at cleanfarms.ca.
Please return your triple-rinsed and bagged jugs to your local ag-dealer.

Why do I have to pay $10 to dispose of a mattress?
Mattresses cannot be easily recycled or compacted so they are hauled to the Evergreen Regional site where the County pays for each mattress to be shredded.
By doing this, it reduces our local landfill volumes and helps ensure there is room for all your waste.
